Colours

Red
 
The colour red
Reminds me of blood,
The red flow of life
We connect with love.
 
The colour red
Reminds me of fire,
A rich and vigorous
Flame of desire.

Purple
 
The colour purple
Reminds me of plums,
So rich and succulent
That my heart drums.
 
The colour purple
Reminds me of power,
Like that of kings
When being called Sire.

Yellow
 
The colour yellow
Reminds me of light,
Like that of the sun
Through it's rays I run.
 
The colour yellow
Reminds me of might,
It's scorching shine
Brings me to rhyme.

Blue
 
When you describe blue
Do you look at the sky?
Or look at the sea?
Do you ask yourself why?
 
Do you watch the waves ripple?
Sparkle and glisten?
Do you watch the birds fly?
And to their songs listen?
